Community Interpreting Services

The LICS® certification scheme specifies criteria and a procedure to certify services of community interpreting service providers (CISP).

LICS® offers interpretation service providers around the world a certification according to the certification scheme based on the requirements of the National Standard Guide for Community Interpreting Services, published by the Healthcare Interpretation Network – HIN. LICS® works with a network of partners worldwide. These partners carry out the actual task of certification in a specified area, acting on the authority of the LICS headquarters in Vienna. Local partners are monitored on a regular basis.

The LICS® headquarters maintains a central register of all LICS CISP certified interpretation service providers.
