LICS Auditors

All LICS Lead Auditors are qualified auditors who have in-depth knowledge of EN 15038 and experience with translation services.

The following minimum qualification requirements for LICS EN 15038 Lead Auditors apply:

A: If a Lead Auditor candidate is a trained and experienced auditor (e.g. for quality management systems) in accordance with ISO 19011 with a minimum of 2 years of experience,

- he/she must participate in a LICS EN 15038 auditor theory training, and
- he/she must participate in at least one EN 15038 audit as a co-auditor.

B: If a Lead Auditor candidate is not an auditor in accordance with ISO 19011,

- he/she must participate in a LICS EN 15038 auditor theory training, and
- he/she must participate in at least two EN 15038 audits as an observer, and
- he/she must lead at least one EN 15038 audit under the supervision of a LICS EN 15038 auditor trainer.

LICS Auditors (Lead-Auditors and Co-Auditors) should demonstrate the following qualities:

  • open-minded approach
  • diplomacy and tact
  • sound judgment
  • analytical skills
  • commitment to achieving targets
  • industry-specific expertise

LICS Auditors follow strict rules of conduct based on EN 45011 requiring them to:

  • act professionally
  • aim to increase competence
  • avoid any role or activity that may result in conflicts of interest
  • disclose any conflict of interest
  • be truthful, accurate, fair and responsible to the public
  • maintain audit confidentiality
  • disclose who they represent

Become a Certification Partner

LICS® collaborates with local partners, who will carry out the actual task of certification in a specified area. These partners will be accredited for their work by LICS®, and will be monitored on a regular basis. The local partners will report to LICS® headquarters, enabling us to maintain a centralized register of certified service providers.

Licensees may be located anywhere in the world.
